Assam govt revamps monthly pension amount of journalists' pension scheme

Assam Information and Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika announced that the monthly pension amount of the journalists’ pension scheme will be increased to Rs 10,000 from Rs 8,000 in the state.

Besides, he announced that Government will also provide one-time financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh to the next of kin of the journalists in case of the untimely death of a journalist while performing his/her duties.
