Assam govt restricts movement of heavy vehicles through Kaziranga National Park

The chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has instructed that all heavy vehicles including goods carriages will be diverted through different routes.

Due to flooding, the Assam government has restricted movement of heavy vehicles through the Kaziranga National Park (KNP).

The chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has instructed that accordingly all heavy vehicles including goods carriages will be diverted through different routes.

From Upper Assam: Dibrugarh-via Bogibeel Bridge- North Bank- Lower Assam.


From Lower Assam: Saraighat Bridge- Baihata- North bank- Bogibeel Bridge- Upper Assam, Rangia- Baihata- North Bank- Bogibeel Bridge- Upper Assam

Around 70 percent of the park was under water on Monday. Sarma tweeted,” We all take pride in Kaziranga National Park. In wake of floods causing displacement of Kaziranga animals & putting them on risk, may I appeal to truck / other vehicles to avoid NH 715 for commuting between lower & upper Assam & use NH 15 thru North Bank instead?”

Several districts of Assam are witnessing fury of monsoon.
