Assam government has requested state governments to include a chapter about Ahom general Bir Lachit Barphukan in the school curriculum.

Taking on Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa sarma said : “Assam Govt is committed to undo errors of the past and present our true history to the nation. We've written to all State Govts to include a chapter on Bir Lachit Barphukan.”

Sarma in another programme recently said that coinciding with the 400th birth anniversary celebration of Mahabir Lachit Borphukan he had written letters to the Chief Ministers of all the states of India to incorporate a chapter on the great General of Assam’s history in the school curriculum of their respective states.
