Assam government has come up with fresh SOP relaxing curfew timing by at least one hour. Curfew will be there from 11pm to 5am.

Assam state Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) stated,” daily new cases of COVID are hovering between 300 and 400, mostly reported from the urban and peri-urban areas and most of the districts are reporting less than 10 cases per day for the last 4-5 weeks; whereas, covid vaccination status has also improved significantly with 95% of the total eligible population in the state have received first dose, many districts nearing saturation and second dose vaccination has also gone up to 31% of total eligible population in the state.”

While curfew timing is extended from 9pm to 10 pm, workplace and business establishments will operate till 10pm. All Government servants (including contractual and fixed pay) who have taken at least one dose of covid- 19 vaccine shall attend office. However, all other employees except those in whose case vaccination is contra-indicated as per guidelines issued by the Health Department of Government of Assam and /or such claim is certified by a registered medical practitioner will have to get themselves vaccinated and attend office.


Auto Rickshaws, cycle rickshaws and taxis shall operate for passengers with 100% seating capacity and observance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour for passengers having at least a single dose of vaccine. Pillion riding on motorcycles may be allowed with at least single vaccinated persons and compulsory wearing of masks.

Intra-district transport, with 100% seating capacity subject to observance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, shall be allowed for passengers having at least a single dose of vaccine. All inter-district passenger transport and movement shall be allowed with 100% passengers having at least a single dose of vaccine.

Assam chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that there will be no lockdown in Assam and there is no surge in the COVID-19 cases.

Sarma said, “As speculated by some quarters there will be no lockdown in Assam and there is no surge in the cases of the COVID-19 in the state. Last year there were not many cases in October and November, however cases increased in April. We need to get vaccinated. I urge people to get vaccinated.

State's health department stated Assam reported 326 new Covid-19 cases, 296 recoveries and five fatalities on Monday.
