Assam government has decided to provide caste certificates to the students in the schools itself.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in BJP’s state executive meeting in Diphu stated, “Under Mission Bhumiputra, eligible students of Class 9, 10, 11 & 12 will get their caste certificates in their schools itself. From August 2022, the DC office will collect applications from schools & deliver the certificates in November. There's also provision for online application”.

He added that Orunodoi benefit to be increased to Rs 1,250 from September and another 6 lakh names to be added to the present list of 22 lakh beneficiaries. NCC cadets will carry out a beneficiary verification drive from 7 July.


He said that Tea garden workers will be given a share of compensation for land acquisition from respective gardens for construction of national highways. To check water connection in villages, 26,000 Jal Mitras to be appointed with a monthly remuneration of Rs 6,500

Sarma said that investment of Rs 800 crore will be made to revitalise the rural economy by providing MSP to farmers. Infusion of Rs 5,000 crore will be made to the agriculture economy by procuring 24 lakh MT rice. “Special preference will be given to Agniveers in Assam Police recruitment."
