In a notification issued by the General Administration Department it has been mentioned that all state government offices, educational institutions etc., within the aforementioned districts will remain closed on April 28. During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate seven new cancer hospitals and will also lay the foundation stone for seven new cancer hospitals in the State.
Modi is visiting Assam after almost one year since the BJP led government took over the reins of power for the second consecutive term in Assam.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We are all set to welcome Hon PM Shri @narendramodiji to Karbi Anglong, Assam. Loringthepi, the venue of the Peace, Unity & Development Rally, has been decked up. Reviewed preparations with Mins Shri @Pijush_hazarika& Shri @JogenMohanAssam, KAAC CEM Shri@TuliramRonghang
& others”.

The seven cancer hospitals would be inaugurated by the Prime Minister are at Dibrugarh, Barpeta, Tezpur, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Kokrajhar and Darrang while foundation would be laid are at Dhubri, Goalpara, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Nalbari, Nagaon and Tinsukia.
