Assam CM seeks probe into Rosmita Hojai’s mysterious death in Rishikesh

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged his Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Dhami to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the mysterious death of Rosmita Hojai.

Hojai’s body was recovered from the Ganga River in Rishikesh five days after she was reported missing.

Sarma stated in X, “We are distressed by the death of Rosmita Hojai, particularly the circumstances surrounding her death. I have personally requested the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri

Ji to examine the issue, so that justice can be delivered”.


Family members stated that Rosmita had travelled to Delhi for a recruitment examination and later accompanied two individuals to Rishikesh, where she allegedly went missing on June 6.

A Zero FIR was filed in Assam and subsequently transferred to the concerned police station in Uttarakhand.
