The Rs 65‑crore project will come up adjacent to the existing Chief Minister’s Secretariat at Paltan Bazar, Maijan, Dibrugarh.
Sarma said the initiative is part of the State Government’s broader vision to develop Dibrugarh as the State’s second capital by expanding its administrative infrastructure. The proposed Ministers’ Office will feature 20 office rooms along with 10 accommodation units. The convention centre will have a seating capacity of 350, while the adjoining conference hall will accommodate 120 people, he said.
Moreover, the office building of the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary will be a ground‑plus‑one structure, equipped with officers’ cabins, an establishment office room, a meeting room, a car porch and other essential facilities. The Chief Minister also said that these measures are aimed at fostering people‑centric development in Upper Assam and ensuring greater administrative outreach to the people of the region.
