Assam: BJP’s 31 promises include UCC, land recovery from ‘Bangladeshi Miyas’, FM releases Manifesto

The BJP on Tuesday released its Assam assembly poll manifesto, the ‘Sankalp Patra’, listing 31 key promises including the recovery of encroached land under ‘Mission Basundhara’, implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (excluding Sixth Schedule and tribal areas), creation of 2 lakh government jobs, and laws to tackle Love Jihad and Land Jihad. Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Union ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Pabitra Margherita were present. BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis held rallies across the state.
