Reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to taking governance to the remotest corners of Arunachal Pradesh, Khandu announced a series of major development initiatives exclusively for Dibang Valley district following the Cabinet Aapke Dwar meeting held at Anini.
He said, “A detailed feasibility study for development of an Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) at Anini will be conducted by an expert team to assess technical and operational viability, keeping in view the district’s strategic location and connectivity requirements”.
The Cabinet Aapke Dwar initiative is aimed at bringing the government to the doorstep of the people by holding Cabinet meetings outside the State Capital, engaging directly with local communities and district administrations, understanding region-specific challenges, and ensuring prompt decision-making and on-the-spot interventions, particularly in remote and border areas.
As part of this outreach, the Chief Minister announced several infrastructure, education, connectivity, power and livelihood-related projects tailored to the needs of Dibang Valley.
To address the long-standing need for a common public facility, the Chief Minister announced construction of a Community Hall at Rekho, Anini, which will serve as a multipurpose venue for official functions, public meetings, cultural programmes and social events in the district headquarters.
Recognising the strategic and developmental importance of road connectivity, approval was announced for construction of a 15-kilometre road from NH-313 (Amuli Village) to the Anini–Dambuen BRO road up to Aliney, at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore. The road will significantly reduce travel time, improve civilian movement in the Dri Valley and strengthen strategic connectivity up to the last motorable point at Bruni.
In order to strengthen technical administration and improve monitoring of developmental works, the Chief Minister announced construction of an office building-cum-residential accommodation for the Executive Engineer, PWD, Anini. The facility will enhance on-ground supervision and expedite project execution in the district.
Leveraging the district’s unique ecological and climatic advantages, the Chief Minister announced establishment of a High Altitude Medicinal Plant Research Centre in Dibang Valley to promote conservation, scientific research and sustainable utilisation of medicinal plants endemic to the Mishmi Hills. A feasibility study will be undertaken and submitted within three months.
The Chief Minister announced installation of solar streetlights in Anini township, providing a sustainable lighting solution in view of limited power availability and frequent load shedding.
