The Army revived a defunct oxygen plant in Srinagar. It has a capacity of filling 700 cylinders daily. It airlifted spare parts for the plant from Mumbai and the plant is now functional and would increase the oxygen generation capacity in the Valley.

Srinagar-based defence spokesperson lieutenant colonel Emmron Musavi said that an oxygen plant of Enn Dee Gases, located at Rangreth, was out of action for five years and on civil administration’s request, the Army’s 15 Corps transported the spare parts for the plant.

“It was vital to make the plant serviceable to increase oxygen production capacity in the Valley… The moment spares arrived at the plant, a team of technicians from Corps Zone Workshop, Rangreth, along with civil technicians worked tirelessly to make the plant serviceable in four days,” said Lt Col Musavi.

“The plant has been tested thoroughly and has been found to work satisfactorily,” he said.
