A SpiceJet staff member was arrested on Thursday for reportedly slapping a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan during an argument over security screening at Jaipur airport, according to police and CISF officials cited by PTI.

Anuradha Rani, employed as a food supervisor with the airline, was attempting to enter the airport through the "vehicle gate" with other staff around 4 am when Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad stopped her for not having proper permission for that entry point, reported PTI.

Following the incident, Rani was directed to undergo screening at the designated entrance for airline crew, but no female CISF personnel were available at the time, officials stated.

Ral Lal, the SHO of Jaipur airport, reported that the ASI called for a female colleague to conduct the security check, but the situation escalated, leading to Rani allegedly slapping him.

The SHO mentioned that a case has been filed against the food supervisor under sections 121 (1) (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty) and 132 (assaulting a public servant) of the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Anuradha Rani has been arrested based on a complaint by the ASI, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
