Sambhal Rahul Murder Case
Even as Uttar Pradesh is still grappling with the shock of the Meerut “Blue drum murder case”, police in Sambhal district have uncovered another gruesome crime with disturbing similarities. In Chandausi, a woman allegedly plotted with her lovers to murder her husband, chop his body into pieces and dump them at different locations, a TOI report stated. The case came to light after severed body parts were found packed in polythene bags, sending shockwaves through the town.

Body parts found near Idgah

The chilling discovery was made on December 15 near the Idgah on Patraua Road in Chandausi. Locals alerted police after spotting suspicious polythene bags. When officers opened them, they found mutilated human remains.

Police said the body had been cut with extreme brutality, with the head, hands and legs chopped off, making identification difficult at first.

Name on arm leads to identification

Investigators got their first major clue from an unusual detail on one of the severed arms. Police said, "Initial identification proved difficult as the head was missing. However, police got a crucial lead when they noticed the name “Rahul” engraved on one of the severed arms. Further investigation confirmed the deceased as Rahul (40), a shoe trader and resident of Chunni locality in Chandausi."

This small detail helped police put a name to the victim and trace his background.

Wife’s missing complaint raises suspicion

The investigation took a dramatic turn when police found that Rahul’s wife, Ruby, had already filed a missing persons complaint on November 18. During questioning, officers noticed contradictions in her statements, which deepened their suspicion.

Using surveillance inputs and technical evidence, police reconstructed the sequence of events. Ruby, her alleged lover Gaurav, and another person were detained for questioning as the probe widened.

Children’s statement adds emotional twist

Police said Rahul and Ruby had been married for 15 years and had two children — a 12-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter. The girl’s statement became a key part of the investigation.

She reportedly told police that her parents often fought and that three people used to visit their house, sometimes bringing her chocolates. During questioning, she broke down and repeatedly said her mother was also involved, urging police to “hang everyone responsible”.

Murder suspected inside the house

On Sunday, police recovered several items from Rahul’s house, including a cot leg, a scooter, a bag, a toilet brush, an iron rod and an electric heater. Forensic teams suspect the murder took place inside the house before the body was cut into pieces and dumped at multiple locations.

Police are still searching for Rahul’s missing head and other body parts.

Investigators believe the murder was planned on the lines of the recent Meerut Muskaan case, which had shocked the state with its brutality. The resemblance has added to public fear and anger.

However, police said the official disclosure and full details of the case are yet to be made public as the investigation continues.
