Annamalai breaks silence on quitting BJP: 'I am a Hindu, but I leave my religion and caste at home'

Addressing his first major public rally in Pollachi since leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party, former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K. Annamalai explained that he parted ways with the organization "to serve people better, not to criticize them." While declaring his newly launched "We The Leaders" voluntary movement will eventually transform into a secular political party targeting the 2031 assembly elections, Annamalai stated, "I identity as a Hindu, but I leave my religion and caste at home to serve people treating everyone equally."
