Anish Khan case: Arrested duo remanded to judicial custody till March 23

Refusing bail, a local court in Uluberia in Howrah remanded the police personnel duo arrested in connection with Anish Khan case to judicial custody till March 23.

Two police personnel — a homeguard and a civic volunteer — were arrested in connection with Anish Khan’s death. The Test Identification parade was ordered by the Calcutta HC as sought by the SIT. Anish Khan’s father went to Uluberia jail to identify Kashinath Bera, the homeguard, and Pritam Bhattacharya, the civic volunteer. Anish Khan is a resident of Howarh district’s Amta.

The Calcutta High Court had ordered a second autopsy after it was sought by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is investigating the case. The second autopsy was performed following initial refusal by Salem Khan, the father of Anish Khan.

Anish Khan’s father participated in a Test Identification (TI) parade to identify a home guard and a civic volunteer in connection with Anish Khan’s death.

It may be recalled that four police personnel had visited Anish Khan’s house on the night of his death.
