Addressing a public rally in Visakhapatnam, Modi said the green hydrogen hub will create several employment opportunities for the people of the region and develop a manufacturing ecosystem in the state.
The speech came after Modi virtually laid the foundation stone and launched projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore in Andhra Praesh. Among others he laid the foundation stone for a railway zone here and NTPC's integrated green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district.
The green hydrogen hub is a joint green energy ecosystem initiative between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP).
Modi said as part of National Green Hydrogen Mission, the country is aiming to produce 5 million tons of green hydrogen by 2030.
Modi said Andhra is a state of possibilities and opportunities and when realised, it would not only contribute in the development of the state but also the nation.
"The development of Andhra is our vision and serving the people of Andhra is our resolve. Andhra Pradesh has set a target to become an economy of nearly $2.5 trillion by 2047. To realize this vision, Chandrababu Naidu's government has initiated the 'Swarna Andhra-2047' initiative," added Modi.
The prime minister said the Centre supported Andhra Pradesh's goals and had give special priority to the state.
Modi also praised Chief Minister and NDA ally N Chandrababu Naidu for his efforts to develop the state.
"After a gap of 60 years, a government has been elected for the third time in the country and after the formation of the government, this is my first official program and the wonderful welcome you gave me, the way people were blessing me on the way and today and N Chandrababu Naidu has hit all the sixers in his speech. I respect the spirit of each of his words, his sentiments and I assure the people of Andhra Pradesh, the countrymen that the sentiments that Chandrababu was expressing today, together we will definitely achieve those goals," Modi said.
