Rain expected in phases across regions
Along with thunderstorms, heavy rainfall is expected across the same regions on Friday. The IMD also warned of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of NCAP and Yanam on Saturday. Parts of Rayalaseema are likely to receive heavy rain on Monday and Tuesday.No major shift in temperatures
"There will be no significant change in maximum temperatures from Day 1 (May 16) to Day 7 (May 22), with a slight tendency to fall over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam," the release stated.Monsoon set to progress further
The IMD said weather conditions are currently favourable for the Southwest Monsoon to move further into more areas over the next two to three days.
