Tirupati Laddu controversy: Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu accuses Jagan Reddy's YSRCP of using animal fat in Tirupati laddu
Tirupati Laddu controversy: Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the previous YSRCP government of using substandard ingredients and animal fat in the Tirupati laddu, a sacred sweet from the Sri Venkateswara temple. The YSRCP denies t...
Naidu made these allegations during an NDA legislature party meeting, claiming that the laddu was made with "substandard ingredients" and "animal fat instead of ghee." He stated that the current administration, under his leadership, has ensured the use of pure ghee and improved sanitation at the temple, resulting in better quality laddus.
YSRCP leaders have denied these accusations. Senior YSRCP leader and former TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy described Naidu's comments as "malicious" and accused him of seeking political gain. "No person would speak such words or make such accusations," Reddy stated.
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh also criticized the previous YSRCP government, expressing shock over the alleged use of animal fat. "The Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala is our most sacred temple. I am shocked to learn that the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration used animal fat instead of ghee in the Tirupati Prasadam," he said.
Subba Reddy, who served two terms as TTD chairman, argued that Naidu's comments have hurt the sanctity of the sacred Tirumala and the faith of millions of devotees.
