Kaveri Travel Bus Accident: Charred remains of a Hyderabad-bound private bus that caught fire after a collision with a two-wheeler, near Chinnatekur in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the Chief Secretary and DGP on Friday to coordinate with Andhra Pradesh authorities to ensure swift relief measures following the bus fire in Kurnool that killed 20 people onboard.

The Congress Telangana head said he has instructed officials to provide better medical assistance to the injured and implement other relief programs. Reddy also directed the Jogulamba Gadwal district Collector and SP to immediately proceed to the accident site and oversee rescue operations.


“I have directed the Chief Secretary and DGP to coordinate with Andhra Pradesh authorities to ensure relief measures are implemented. I have instructed officials to provide better medical assistance to the injured and other relief programs on a war footing,” Reddy said in a post on X.


"The news of a private bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru meeting with a horrific accident in Kurnool district has caused profound shock. The report of several deaths in the accident is deeply distressing. I pray to God that the souls of the deceased find peace… and I express my heartfelt condolences to their families," the Congress leader further said.

Kurnool bus accident: What happened?


The tragedy occurred early on October 24, around 3:30 am, near Chinna Tekuru village on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru highway. The private Volvo bus, operated by Kaveri Travels, was carrying approximately 40 passengers when it collided with a motorcycle.

According to reports, the motorcycle was dragged under the bus with its fuel cap open, which triggered a massive fire. Witnesses said the flames spread so quickly that many passengers were trapped inside before they could react.

Twelve passengers managed to escape, some with severe burn injuries, while at least 20 others, including the motorcyclist, were killed.

Meanwhile, Kurnool Range DIG Koya Praveen confirmed that 19 survivors, including two children and two drivers, were rescued.
