"And for my next joke...": Tennis legend Martina Navratilova responds to Amit Shah's praise of Modi
The legendary star of yesteryears, the winner of 18 Grand Slam singles titles, has a track record of taking on Modi government's policies, including calling out the Trump-Modi bonhomie, Assam's NRC exercise, and the govt's stand on JNU.

On Sunday night, Navratilova tweeted "And for my next joke...", in reply to Shah's eulogy of Modi as "India's most democratic leader". Her tweet was accompanied by an emoticon signifying surprise and another of a clown face.
Below her tweet, she added another tweet about a report that said “Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not a ‘dictator’ but the most democratic leader the country has ever seen”….

Shah’s comments were part of an interview he gave to Sansad TV.
