Amrit Pal Singh case: A five-member team had discussion with supporters of Pro Khalistan leader

With nine supporters of Pro Khalistan leader Amrit Pal Singh lodged at the Dibrugarh central jail, a five-member team of Advisory board under National Security Act (NSA) arrived at Dibrugarh and had discussion with detainees.

With nine supporters of Pro Khalistan leader Amrit Pal Singh lodged at the Dibrugarh central jail, a five-member team of Advisory board under National Security Act (NSA) arrived at Dibrugarh and had discussion with detainees.

A senior official who do not want to be named told ET, “The team consists of Retired justice Shabihul Hasnain Chairperson, Suveer Sheokand member, Divanshu Jain Member, Rakesh Agarwal IGP, CI Punjab, Rupinder Kaur Bhatti SP, CI Punjab.”


The official said that the team was there for almost three hours. Since last month around nine Khalistani supporters have been brought to Assam.

Dibrugarj jail in Upper Assam is under multi-layer security. Elite Black Panther of Assam Police commandos is maintaining internal security while the inner security has been handled by members of the CRPF, Assam Police, and prison guards.

In a major crackdown 78 people were arrested. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of the separatist Sikh for Justice said that by filing of FIRS against Khalistan leaders Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa sarma has started a war.
