New Delhi: The Centre reiterated Wednesday that Indian flagged vessels haven't paid any tolls to Iranian authorities or to non-state actors for crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) addressed allegations that the captain of Indian-flagged vessel, Sanmar Herald made a payment in US dollars to an individual claiming to represent the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy in exchange for passage rights through the strait.

The captain is said to have subsequently fallen victim to cyber criminals.
