Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday said that the state forces can be deployed anywhere in the state and that operations against miscreants continue. Singh while talking to media persons in Imphal said, "More than 200 to 300 state forces are there in Moreh and we are sending more forces. State forces can be deployed anywhere in the state and there is no bar on deployment, no one can stop it."

Recently, the movement of the state forces was blocked in Tengnoupal by various groups. Moreh, just 4 km to the west of Myanmar's largest border town Tamu, saw large-scale violence in July.

On threats, Singh said he had warned before May 3, the day when violence broke out, there would be a threat from the drug cartels of the Golden Triangle area due to the state government's drive against drugs. "It is not easy but we will not succumb to their pressure," Singh added.

Singh said on Sunday two to three bunkers were destroyed. "Today also, an operation is going on in the Naransena area. The operation will continue and we will hunt them," the CM said.

When asked about Tamillian people of Moreh, he said, "No one will move out of Moreh and full security will be provided to them. Moreh is part of India, Manipur is part of India and we will live together and no one can dictate anything to anybody."

Taking to X, the CM said colleges in the state will open on September 6. "Pleased to share that over the past month, school attendance for students from class 1 to 12 has surged to an impressive 90% as we gradually get back to normalcy. The State Govt. is committed to always keep education on priority despite the hard times we have endured over the last few months. Additionally, colleges are set to reopen on September 6th. Let's continue to prioritize learning and safety for all." After violence in the state, schools reopened on July 5.
