Ambubachi Mela defines spirituality and harmony: Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal paid a visit to the Pandu Port of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) where temporary arrangement have been made for the hundreds of devotees and tourists from across the nation as well as abroad for the ongoing Ambubachi mela at the Maa Kamakhya mandir.

The Union Minister reviewed arrangements made for the devotees and called the officials to ensure all measures are taken for the comfort of the tourists visiting the Mela. Sonowal also met with many devotees and interacted with them at the Port to understand their concern and their experience about the visit to Ambubachi mela.

Sonowal said, “Ambubachi Mela has allowed us, along with all the devotees visiting Maa Kamakhya Mandir to merge into the harmony and spiritual being, the very essence of Hinduism. Ambubachi Mela is part of our rich heritage and powerful symbol of Sanatan culture. In order to encourage spiritual tourism, the government has been taking various steps and will continue to take appropriate measures to promote spiritual tourism. Absolute peace can be found in devotion, Bhakti. Through devotion to our spiritual being, we must be part of a movement to build a beautiful society. I pray to Maa Kamakhya that she keeps blessing all of us and keep the society at bay from any wrongs and inauspicious events.”
