In a press release, RIL informed that Jio Studios, its entertainment subsidiary, has withdrawn a trademark application associated with the Operation led by the Indian Defence Forces agaainst terrorists in Pakistan.
"Reliance Industries and all its stakeholders are incredibly proud of Operation Sindoor, which came about in response to a Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam," said RIL.

Operation Sindoor is the proud achievement of our brave Armed Forces in India's uncompromising fight against the evil of terrorism, it added.
Further, the conglomerate extended its support to the Government and Armed forces, and said that its motto 'India First' remains unwavering.
On May 7, 2025, between 10:42 am and 6:27 pm, four separate trademark filings were made for “Operation Sindoor” under Class 41 of the Nice Classification, which covers media, entertainment, education, and cultural services.

The applicants included Reliance, Mumbai-based Mukesh Chetram Agrawal, retired Indian Air Force Group Captain Kamal Singh Oberh, and Delhi lawyer Alok Kothari. All four submissions described the term as “proposed to be used,” hinting at future media or entertainment projects centered around the evocative title.
The name Operation Sindoor quickly struck a national chord—sindoor, symbolising valor, sacrifice, and cultural heritage, became an emotionally potent label for India’s retaliatory strike. While the buzz around the name surged, so did the interest in its commercial potential.
