Actor Allu Arjun was granted interim bail for four weeks by Telangana High Court on Friday in connection to the death of a woman during the screening of his film 'Pushpa 2' in Hyderabad, subject to a few conditions.

Arjun was arrested from his Hyderabad residence and taken to Chikkadpally police station earlier on today. He was granted interim bail by after the actor was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by a local court.

A woman died and her son was hospitalized following a crowd surge at a theater in Hyderabad. The incident occurred on the night of December 4th after fans gathered at the Sandhya Theatre to see Allu Arjun.


Allu Arjun's bail: Here are the conditions

The conditions include the execution of a personal bond of Rs 50,000, as per Bar & Bench. The court laid down additional conditions to ensure his cooperation in the ongoing investigation and prevent any interference in the judicial process.

As per the court order, Allu Arjun must appear before the jail superintendent to execute the bail bond. Furthermore, he has been directed to fully cooperate with the investigation team and strictly refrain from interfering with the ongoing probe or influencing witnesses in any manner.

Why was Allu Arjun arrested?

Actor Allu Arjun was arrested after a stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of his film Pushpa-2 on December 4. The incident claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her eight-year-old son hospitalized.

The tragedy occurred when a large crowd gathered to see Allu Arjun. As the actor arrived at the theatre around 9:30 pm, fans surged toward the entrance. The theatre management had not made proper security arrangements, and there were no separate entry or exit routes for the actor’s team. Chaos erupted as the crowd pushed forward, and Revathi and her son were trapped in the lower balcony, where they suffocated. Revathi was declared dead at the hospital, while her son remains under treatment.

The police filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management based on a complaint from Revathi’s family. Three theatre officials were also arrested. Days before his arrest, Allu Arjun announced ₹25 lakh in financial aid for the family and expressed his condolences.
