All 16,347 police stations have CCTNS, says Amit Shah

Chairing a meeting of the consultative committee on cybercrime on Tuesday, Union home minister Amit Shah said the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) has been implemented in all 16,347 police stations across the country.

The home minister further said that 40% of analytical tools have been prepared while training is being imparted to police officers and lawyers for combating cybercrime.

As per the national portal on cybercrime, more than six lakhs complaints related to cybercrime have been received and 12,776 FIRs have been registered.


The National Cybercrime Threat Analysis Unit has issued 142 advisories to states and blocked 266 mobile apps so far.

Shah discussed ways to strengthen reporting of cybercrime and launch a centralised mechanism to report such crime from any part of the country, reads a MHA statement.
