Rameshwaram's C Kannan (57), is poised to shatter age norms and redefine the pursuit of knowledge by becoming the oldest student ever enrolled at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhyalaya (DAVV) in Indore.

Displaying unwavering determination, Kannan secured admission to the MBA International Business (MBA IB) progra.

With a background in civil engineering, Kannan has spent years dedicated to his family's real estate business. However, he is now embracing a fresh chapter in life, fueled by a fervent thirst for knowledge. This extraordinary journey commenced when he arrived at DAVV with aspirations of enrolling in the exclusive MBA IB program.

During a postgraduate counseling session, Kannan's resolute efforts earned him a coveted spot in the MBA IB course, offered by DAVV's School of Economics. His decision to return to academia has earned him respect and admiration from both the university's staff and his fellow students.

Prof. Chandan Gupta, DAVV's media officer, remarked, “He will be the oldest student we will have on campus so far. His zeal to study at this age is impressive, and we wish him all the best.”

Kannan's ambitions go beyond the confines of the classroom. Upon completing his MBA at DAVV, he envisions establishing a business focused on foreign exchange.

Speaking with TOI, Kannan shared, “With my family responsibilities fulfilled, I now have the opportunity to explore paths I couldn't pursue in my youth. And so, here I am. Given the scarcity of reputable universities offering this course, I found myself drawn to Indore. During my absence, my family will manage my business.”
