After papad, BSF jawan boils egg in hot sands of Bikaner

A BSF jawan in Rajasthan roasted a papad in the hot sands amid an intense heatwave. Another jawan was seen boiling an egg in the sand as temperatures reached 48.8 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.

Days after a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan roasted a papad in the hot sands of Bikaner in Rajasthan amid an intense heatwave, a new video has surfaced in which a jawan can be seen boiling an egg in the sand.

The video surfaced amid reports of temperatures reaching 48.8 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.

Meanwhile, a BSF official told PTI that BSF personnel are holding the border posts amid the intense heat prevailing in the Rajasthan deserts.


"The current temperature is 46 to 47 degrees Celsius, yet our soldiers are patrolling continuously. We give them lemon water and other fluids to protect them from heat stroke," the BSF official told PTI.


The Met Department has issued a ‘red alert’ in 22 districts of Rajasthan as the heatwave continues in the state.

The ‘red alert’ has been issued in Alwar, Baran, Bharatpur, Bundi, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Tonk, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Nagaur, Pali, and Barmer districts.

The Met Department has also sounded an ‘orange alert’ in Jalore, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, and Ajmer districts.

Barmer recorded a temperature of 48 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest place in Rajasthan. This temperature was the highest recorded in the state this season.

Phalodi recorded a temperature of 47.8 degrees Celsius. Fatehpur recorded 47.6 degrees Celsius. Churu recorded 47.4 degrees Celsius. Jalore-Jaisalmer recorded a temperature of 47.2 degrees Celsius.

The maximum day temperature in Phalodi, Jodhpur, Barmer, Sikar, Pilani, Jaisalmer, and Churu was 5 degrees above the normal temperature. The maximum day temperature exceeded 45 degrees Celsius in Karauli, Hanumangarh, Dungarpur, Baran, Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Kota, Sikar, and Pilani.

The minimum temperature in Jaipur, Kota, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Phalodi, Bikaner, Churu, Dholpur, Jalore, and Fatehpur has exceeded 30 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological officials have issued a warning that the temperature in Jaipur may reach a record high of 47 to 48 degrees Celsius.
