Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Saturday that tourism has been hit hard following the Pahalgam attack and the government will now focus on ensuring an incident-free Amarnath Yatra.

Abdullah, while speaking to reporters here, said his government will start thinking of tourism promotion after the Amarnath Yatra is over.

"Tourism has been hit very hard. In this summer season, more or less now, we hardly have any tourists coming," said Abdullah adding, "We are now focussed on the Amarnath Yatra."

"We will focus on ensuring that all the yatris go back safe and sound. And then we can start thinking about what we can do about tourism promotion," said Abdullah.

This year the 52-day long annual Amarnath Yatra is starting from July 3 and ending on August 9. According to officials, more than 3.5 lakh devotees from across the country have registered themselves online for the yatra till now.
