After Israeli tourist shocker in Karnataka, British woman gang-raped in Delhi, one accused was her online 'friend'

Delhi Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a British woman at a hotel in Mahipalpur, Delhi. Another man has been taken into custody for allegedly molesting her, officials said on Thursday.

According to the police, the woman had travelled from the UK to meet the accused, whom she had befriended on social media.

The incident came to light after the victim reported it to the police. A case was registered, and both suspects were arrested.


Police said the woman arrived in Delhi and booked a hotel room where she met the man on Tuesday. However, she soon realised that he was trying to assault her, which led to an argument between them. The accused then allegedly raped her.

The woman managed to escape and reached the hotel reception. As she tried to leave, another man allegedly molested her inside the lift.

Delhi Police have arrested both men and informed the British High Commission about the incident.

Further investigation is ongoing.
