In a post on X, Araghchi described the talks as "important", highlighting both bilateral issues and broader regional developments. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical, narrow chokepoint, between Iran and Oman, separating the Persian Gulf from the Gulf of Oman. As the world's most vital maritime oil chokepoint, it facilitates the passage of approximately 20% of global oil, along with LNG, LPG and other petroleum-related products.
