After Delhi-NCR, nearly six schools in Ahmedabad receive bomb threats through email

Days after over 130 schools in Delhi-NCR region were targeted, nearly six schools in Ahmedabad on Monday received bomb threats through email, news agency ANI reported.

As of now, Ahmedabad Police is probing the matter.

"No need to panic, exaggerate...5-6 schools have been threatened through mail about bomb blast...we are checking. No need to give too much hype...people should not panic as tomorrow is poll day," said the DCP on the bomb threats.


Delhi-NCR hoax bomb threats:
Soon after panic gripped the national capital and neighboring areas, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has registered an FIR against unidentified people under Section 120B of IPC and IPC 506 in the case of threatening emails to schools. The investigation will be done by the Counter Intelligence Team of the Special Cell.

The content of the email has been mentioned in the FIR.

Meanwhile, Delhi government issued an advisory urging schools to timely check their official emails and inform the authorities regarding any impending threat.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an official statement saying that the email appeared to be a 'hoax'. "There is no need to panic. The mail appears to be a hoax. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol," the official release from the MHA read.

After recent hoax bomb threats that targeted multiple schools in the Delhi-NCR region, security forces have intensified their preparedness through a series of mock drills across various key locations in the city, including schools, airports, metro stations, and government buildings, said officials.
