Nushrratt Bharuccha on her way back to India after being stranded in Israel during Hamas attack
Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha, who was stranded in Israel following the attack on the country by Hamas militants, landed at the Mumbai airport today. The actor was in Israel to to attend Haifa International Film Festival. Bharuccha was escorted to her car by security at the Mumbai airport.

Reports earlier said that the actor's team had lost contact with her after a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas militants from Gaza Strip. Bharuccha, 38, is known for films such as the "Pyaar Ka Punchnama" series, "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety", "Love Sex Aur Dhokha" and "Chhorii". After working in television, she made her film debut. She was last seen in "Akelli", the thriller drama. She was also seen in "Ram Setu" (2022).

Later her publicists said that with the help of Indian embassy in Israel, they were able to locate her.


"We have finally managed to get in touch with Nushrratt and with the help of the Embassy, she is being safely brought back home. We did not get a direct flight so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank god that she is safe and on her way to India," news agency Press Trust of India cited Bharuccha's publicist as saying.



Meanwhile, Israel has vowed strong retaliation after Palestinian militants attacked southern Israel in one of the biggest invasion of its territory in 50 years. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked Israelis to brace for a protracted campaign while urging Palestinians living in Gaza to “leave now”. “We will turn all the places that Hamas hides in and operates from into rubble,” Netanyahu said Saturday night, in a speech from Tel Aviv, Israel.

In the early hours of Saturday during a major Jewish holiday, Hamas militants fired thousands of rockets and sent dozens of fighters into Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip, killing hundreds and stunning the country. More than 24 hours after the attack, Hamas militants were reported to be still fighting gunbattles inside several Israeli communities. An unknown number of Israeli soldiers and civilians were also captured by militants and taken into Gaza.
