Active Covid cases in country decline to 1,31,807

India's count of COVID-19 instances grew to 4,41,74,650 on Tuesday, while active cases fell to 1,31,807. The death toll is 5,26,772 with 42 deaths, including 10 from Kerala, according to 8 a.m. data.

Active cases account for 0.3% of total infections, whereas the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.5%, the ministry stated. Active COVID-19 caseload decreased by 3,703 in 24 hours.

Daily positivity was 3.5% and weekly positivity was 4.6%, according to the ministry. 4,35,16,071 persons have recovered from the condition, while 1.19 percent have died.


According to the ministry, 206.88 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

India's COVID-19 tally passed 20 lakh on August 7, 30, 40, and 50 lakh on September 5 and 16. It passed 60k on September 28, 70k on October 11, 90k on November 20, and 1m on December 19.

The country crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23 last year. It crossed the four-crore mark on January 25 this year.

Six deaths occurred in Delhi, five in West Bengal, four in Maharashtra, three in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, two in Gujarat, Haryana, and Rajasthan, and one in Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Odisha, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
