Accidental blast inside Nowgam police station in Kashmir during sampling of seized explosives, casualties feared

Casualties feared in an accidental blast inside the premises of Nowgam police station in Srinagar around 11:20 pm on Friday during the inspection of explosives seized from Faridabad.

Loud bang of explosives could be heard in most parts of the Srinagar city and officials claim that this was an "unfortunate accidental blast in which casualties are feared."

The police sources informed that "FSL team along with officials from revenue department were doing sampling of the seized explosives in presence of the police officials when the blast took place accidentally. Casualties feared."


The primary case regarding the busting of "interstate module of radicalized doctors" is registered in this police and the seized material transported from different places by the J&K police was deposited here.

Sirens of ambulances and for brigades pierced the silence of the night as residents of Srinagar started asking questions about the "loud bang" on different social media platforms.

Some of the nearby residents also shared the videos of their fire and smoke emerging from the spot, while many shared the videos of shattering of their windows captured on CCTV cameras.
