AAP-led MCD announces house tax waiver for Delhi residents
Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh announced that the MCD has introduced a house tax waiver for those who clear their 2024-25 dues. Properties between 100 and 500 square yards will get a 50% tax waiver, while those under 100 square yards will be fully...

Singh made the announcement during a press conference attended by MCD Mayor Mahesh Khinchi, Deputy Mayor Ravinder Bhardwaj, and Leader of the House Mukesh Goel.
As part of the waiver plan:
- Homeowners of properties between 100 and 500 square yards will receive a 50% tax reduction.
- Homeowners with properties under 100 square yards will be fully exempt from house tax.
- Commercial properties in rehabilitation areas will also benefit from tax exemptions.
- Residents of 1,300 housing apartments, previously excluded from concessions, will now receive a 25% tax reduction.
Mayor Mahesh Khinchi emphasised that this decision reflects AAP's ongoing commitment to public welfare.
"What AAP promised, we have delivered," he said, highlighting the recent confirmation of 12,000 MCD workers as permanent employees. The official implementation of these measures is set to take place at the upcoming MCD House meeting on February 25, 2025.
