Delhi recorded its eighth COVID-19 fatality this year with the death of a 90-year-old woman. While she tested positive for COVID-19, the Union Health Ministry indicated her death was primarily due to pre-existing conditions like respiratory acidosis, congestive heart failure, and chronic kidney disease, with COVID-19 being an incidental finding.

Currently, Delhi has 691 active COVID-19 cases. Nationally, active cases stand at 6,815, with three deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Kerala, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Delhi are the most affected states.

As of the latest available data on June 10, 2025, India's active COVID-19 caseload stands at 6,815, reflecting an increase of 324 new cases in the past 24 hours. While the overall numbers remain significantly lower than previous waves, health officials are monitoring subtle resurgences and emerging variants like XFG, NB.1.8.1, and LF.7. Kerala continues to report the highest number of active cases, followed by Gujarat, West Bengal, and Delhi.
