Eight FIRs have been registered and 20 perpetrators have been identified so far in connection with the mob violence which took place in Churachandpur District Headquarter on February 15 night. Two cases have been handed over to the CBI for further investigation upon getting video evidence regarding involvement of armed militants in the incident.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh said in the state assembly that no land records were destroyed in the Churachandpur violence and also highlighted the state government’s initiative for digitisation of government documents and land records for all the places in the state.

He said, 80 per cent of digitisation of documents have been completed so far.


A huge crowd of around 400 irate people tried to storm the office of Churachandpur District police at around 7:40 pm on February 15, hours after the suspension order of Head Constable, Siamlalpaul of Churachandpur.
