J&K Police has detained 75 people under the Public Safety Act following the Pahalgam attack that killed 25 tourists and one local.

The forces had earlier detained and summoned, questioned over 2,000 people in connection with case and the raids and search operation continued since April 22 afternoon, when the attack took place in Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, around 90 kms from Srinagar. “75 people slapped with PSA,” IGP (Kashmir) VK Birdi said.

Sources claimed J&K Police has zeroed in on some individuals for sustained questioning. “We have raided several places and busted overground worker networks,” said a police official.

The National Investigation Agency has taken over the probe in this case and search operations across the Kashmir and Chenab and Pir Panjal Valleys of Jammu continue.
