7 cadres from multiple groups surrender in Nagaland’s Dimapur
Guwahati: Based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of cadres belonging to multiple factions in the general areas of Dimapur, Assam Rifles launched sustained outreach and coordination efforts to encourage misguided youth to shun the path of violence and return to the mainstream.

As a result of the persistent persuasion and coordinated efforts of the security forces, seven hardcore Anti-National Elements (ANEs) belonging to various groups surrendered at Dimapur Police Station on 7 May in the presence of Assam Rifles and other security agencies.

During the surrender, the cadres deposited four .22 calibre pistols with ammunition, one 7.65 mm pistol with ammunition, one single-barrelled shotgun, one single-barrelled gun and one carbine with a magazine.

The successful surrender highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-based operations and the humane, persuasive approach adopted by the security forces. Assam Rifles, in coordination with other security agencies, remains committed towards maintaining peace, security and stability in the region and continues to encourage misguided youth to join the mainstream.
