Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the consecration ceremony on January 22, marking a monumental moment in Ayodhya.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust has announced that the installation of an idol of Lord Ram, specifically depicting his five-year-old child-like form, known as Ram Lalla, will take place in the pristine Makrana marble sanctum sanctorum of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya next month.

As per an ANI report, Secretary Champat Rai shared that a meticulous selection process involving three designs of a 51-inch tall idol is underway. "The one which has the best divineness and will display a child look will be selected," he stated.

Highlighting the architectural marvel of the temple, Rai conveyed, "A total of 21-22 lakh cubic feet of stone has been used in the construction of the entire structure." He emphasized that the foundation boasts a 56-layered artificial rock, while the plinth comprises 17,000 granite blocks from Karnataka and Telangana, reaching up to 21 feet above the ground. The temple structure is predominantly crafted using pink sandstone from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, and the sanctum sanctorum is made of pure white Makrana marble.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the consecration ceremony on January 22, marking a monumental moment in Ayodhya. The trust secretary provided insights into the ongoing construction, stating, "Three-storeyed temple is being built here. Work for the ground floor is complete, the first floor is under construction. The temple is enclosed by a four-cornered wall -- Prakara -- with a running length of nearly 750 meters." He added that the uniqueness of the 14-feet wide wall lies in its double-storeyed structure, allowing devotees to perform Parikrama on the upper floor.

Rai also shared details about facilities for pilgrims, including locker facilities for 25,000 visitors at the Pilgrimage Facility Centre (PFC), a small hospital, and extensive restroom facilities. Speaking about the temple's infrastructure, he highlighted the direct electricity supply from the powerhouse, a dedicated 33 KW line, and the construction of an underground water reservoir to cater to potential fire brigade needs.

As Ayodhya prepares for these historic developments, it's worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Ayodhya airport and the railway station, both revamped in alignment with the temple's architecture, on his upcoming visit to the temple city.
