4th Monkeypox case in Delhi as 31-year-old Nigerian woman tests positive

Monkeypox outbreak: Delhi reports 4th case, India tally goes up to 9
Delhi confirmed its fourth case of Monkeypox, on Wednesday, with a 31-year-old Nigerian woman testing positive for the disease, the official sources revealed.

With the addition of this case, India now has nine cases of Monkeypox infections.

As per sources, the woman has been brought to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) hospital with a fever and skin problems. They added that her samples were sent for testing, and the results were positive.


She is the first woman in the country to test positive for Monkeypox.

The officials reported that there is no evidence that she recently travelled abroad.

The first Monkeypox patient in Delhi was discharged on Monday from the LNJP hospital.
