COVID aid: India receives more medical supplies from foreign nations
Central Asia’s biggest state Kazakhstan on Friday provided humanitarian assistance to fight the Covid surge in India.

The first of the two Kazakh aircrafts with its medical assistance landed here on Friday, with the second one expected to arrive soon.

This assistance weighing around 40 tons includes medical masks, respirators, protective suits and portable artificial lung ventilation devices from Kazakhstan manufacturers in the healthcare sector.

This assistance was handed over by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Nurlan Zhalgasbayev to the Ministry of External Affairs officials.

The Kazakh President in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 4, expressed "deep solidarity with India over the devastating COVID-19 surge in this country", and on May 7, instructed his administration to provide and dispatch the necessary assistance to the Indian authorities.

It should be noted that in 2020, India had sent hydroxychloroquine tablets to help Kazakhstan fight the pandemic.
