As many as 25 people were arrested from three Northeastern states for their pro Pakistan social media posts following the Pahalgam terror attack. These people were arrested from Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X on Sunday that three more people -- Dadhichi Dimple alias Dimple Bora, Tahib Ali and Bimal Mahato -- were arrested on Sunday from Golaghat, Tamulpur and Udalguri police station areas respectively. He said charges under the National Security Act (NSA) would be slapped against those found directly or indirectly supporting Pakistan. In Tripura, a senior police official said two arrested persons -- a retired teacher and a student leader were in custody, while six others were either being questioned by the police for making contentious remarks on social media after the Pahalgam terror attack.
