New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will set off on a three-day visit to Germany, Denmark and France - his first trip abroad this year - on Monday with an eye on pushing trade, renewables, high-tech mobility and Indo-Pacific agenda to widen India's partnership with Europe.

Modi will have 25 engagements during the visit, including bilateral and multilateral meetings with eight leaders from seven countries and an interaction with 50 global business leaders, people aware of his schedule indicated to ET.

In Berlin, Modi will hold bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and the two leaders will co-chair the sixth edition of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC). The biennial IGC is a unique dialogue format with participation of several ministers from both sides. This IGC will give a push to the economic and strategic partnership, officials said.

This will be the first IGC with Scholz, and the first government-to-government consultations of the new German regime that assumed office in December 2021.

During his visit, Modi will jointly address a business event with Scholz. He will also address and interact with the Indian community in Germany, officials said.

Modi will thereafter travel to Copenhagen for a summit with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen.
