2021 may turn out to be the best year for the company: Schwing Stetter India MD VG Sakthikumar

V.G. Sakthikumar, Managing Director of Schwing Stetter India, said that despite COVID-19 2021 may turn out to be one of the best year for the company.

Sakthikumar who was in Guwahati on Friday said, “Last year three months of April, May and June was not good for us, later things picked up and we ended the year comfortably. “

He added, “This year initially owing to COVID-19 pandemic business was not good however it picked up and we are expecting that this year will be third best year for company.”


He added, “Our earlier best year was 2018. We started operations in India in 1999.”

Schwing Stetter India is a manufacturer of concreting and construction equipment.

Sakthikumar said. “Schwing is the first Construction Equipment Manufacturing company in India to launch a product in this segment and has been designed for the global market. With Indian Government giving more push to Infrastructure projects and focussing in North – Eastern states, it is more appropriate to launch the SLM in Guwahati. We plan to ink MOU with Assam government for operator development training programme, which will help train the right candidates and thereby provide job opportunities in handling the Infrastructure Equipment in the Northeast Sector”.

The company plans to set up service centre in Guwahati and Chandigarh. “The service Centre in Guwahati spread across two acres will cater to Northeast India. Across India we have nine such facility.”
