2 Assam cops assault journalist after he questions them on flouting traffic rules

In a video the journalist Jayant Debnath was seen as beaten up by the police. A police vehicle was called where Debnath was made to sit.

Two police constables in Assam assaulted a journalist for the latter questioned the cops for not wearing helmet in Chirang district.

In a video, the journalist Jayant Debnath was seen as beaten up by the police. A police vehicle was called where Debnath was made to sit.

Debnath said, “I asked the policemen why they are not wearing helmet while riding two wheeler and what message this will convey.”


The senior police officer said that FIR is filed against the policemen and necessary action will be taken. The two cops have been 'reserved closed'.
