The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that the administration is expecting a tourist footfall of over two crore this year and shooting of many Bollywood projects is scheduled here well.

Sinha said that his administration is breaking it's own records in the tourism sector and several Bollywood productions are expected to shoot in the UT this year. The LG was speaking on sidelines of a inaugural function of Kashmir Medical College and Super-Speciality hospital developed by Milli Trust at Sempora area on the outskirts of Srinagar.

"We are expecting a footfall of over 2 crore tourists this year. Several Bollywood movies were shot in J&K last year and this year administration will break its record as more movies will be shot," said Sinha. Prominent Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is in Kashmir Valley for the shooting of his latest movie 'Dunki'. He will be shooting in Pulwama district of southern Kashmir as well.

The J&K LG said that a new era for private investments in the Union Territory is testimony of Narendra Modi's commitment to make J&K a leading investment destination for manufacturing and service sector.

"This is one of the biggest private sector investments in health sector of UT that will improve efficiency and quality of care. The project worth Rs. 525 Cr will develop Medical College with 150 MBBS seats to fulfill the aspirations of youth and 100 bedded hospital will provide world-class healthcare at affordable rates. The project will provide employment opportunity to 2000 local youth," he said.

The LG claimed that the administration has created an enabling environment for private sector for economic development, employment and income generation. "Administration is deeply and sincerely committed to ease of doing business and ease of living," he said.
