The teenager used to live on the fifth floor of the building with her mother and brother, a Class 12 student and a JEE aspirant, Circle Inspector (CI) at Jawahar Nagar police station Harinarayan Sharma told PTI.
After attending her institute's classes on Wednesday afternoon, Bagisha reached the ninth floor and jumped from the balcony window. Despite a bystander's attempt to intervene, she could not be stopped, Sharma said.
She was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she passed away within an hour during treatment, he added.
The police handed over the body to the family after postmortem and launched an investigation under section 174 (inquest) of the Criminal Procedure Code. While the exact reason behind the girl's extreme step is yet to be ascertained, initial inquiry suggested her disappointment with her NEET result, the CI said.

This tragic incident marks the tenth suspected suicide by a coaching student in Kota this year, highlighting the mental health challenges faced by students in competitive exam environments. Last year, 26 cases of suspected suicide by coaching students were reported, the highest ever in recent years.
Bagisha's father, Vinod Tiwari, expressed regret over his daughter's death and emphasized the importance of supporting students during challenging times. He mentioned that he had asked his daughter not to be upset over her NEET score and had even told her that he could afford her admission to a medical course in a private college.
Calls for Sensitivity and Support
According to Nagar police station Harinarayan Sharma in a TOI report, 'The reason behind extreme step by the girl was yet to be ascertained and her mother and brother are currently not in state to say anything, however, initial inquiry revealed the deceased girl had taken NEET -UG exam, result of which was declared a day before on Tuesday and she did not perform well in her result, the C.I. said adding exact reason behind the extreme step by the girl would be clear only after investigation and inquiry with her parents. It is yet to ascertained if the deceased girl had left any suicide note'.
